Moving Past the Faded Dreams

What do you do when you can’t move
When you’re stuck in a corner
Pierced by unrelenting regret
The desire to move beyond yourself
Become more than you thought you were
Can you really let yourself go

Sheltered between glances and internal streams
Only allusions of things happening
Hidden among only what could be
Driven by unrelenting desire
Unquenchable turmoil of the heart

It’s not just you or me
It’s everything that isn’t
And everything that could be
It’s who I know I am
And who I think you see

A judge of true character is their will and intent
Who let’s their whole heart go
Who trusts their soul with another who can’t see the whole
We love only when we cannot let one go
But what happens when footprints are left the other way
When one walks and the other is left standing
Alone

You move past the faded dreams
You pick yourself up and try again
You realize this moment is not the end
You find someone who is worth your time
You find someone outside of your mind
He who loves can be loved.

Love when you have nothing left to say.
