culture shock

Weed is swimming in my system
and this is not by choice.

So Tara and I went to the Virgin Mobile Free Fest up in MD
to hang loose with Jimmy Eat World, LUDA, and some other random
ones like Chromeo (just ok) and LCD Soundsystem (I was so tired by this point)
Joan Jett & the Blackhearts were an add to the favorite list.

But let's get back to the forest -
the weed forest.
let's have every electro band play in the weed forest
my lungs were crying.

Let me sum up this culture shock.
smoke. ALCOHOL. naked bodies. hot
but not that kind of hot

I apparently missed the memo and wore clothes
I must have looked like a freak.
Next to mr hairy butt and ms bra being the new shirt
I was a sore thumb.

At least I got a free bandanna and danced along to "how low"
the chicken fingers were yummy too.

Perhaps it's because I saw these teenyboppers as my own brothers
but I wanted to shoot them all for passing around that weed cig
really REALLY? I wish I had told them off.
It's the big sister in me. but freaks
were everywhere. and although I like to move to some of
ludacris - when he got the pot heads to raise their hands
and sing along to his weed song - I wanted to shoot society.
Babylon is alive and well. And LUDA is lighting up our kids.
