a million pieces

some pieces are painful
with lots of jagged edges
some are soft, happy and free
others are tense, unsure and frightened
i pick up one just to notice another
and the overwhelming disconnects
leave helpless tears and fears
but then i stop

and hold just one
that one piece that i recognize well
it's a start and so it begins

every evening i sit here and stare. my laptop open connecting me. then there's the ensign opened to be read. along with the work schedule and planner unplanned. there is the guitar lying on it's side and a water glass half empty or full. distant mumblings tucked away. the sun has begun to fade.

" no pain that we suffer, no trial that we experience is wasted. All that we suffer and all that we endure, especially if done patiently (should be defined) builds up characters, purifies our hearts, expands our souls, and makes us more tender and charitable...and it is through sorrow and suffering, toil and tribulation, that we gain the education that we come here to acquire."

thank you Orson Whitney. You inspired me this night.

here is our opportunity to prove we will be faithful.

be here to love. or decide never to love at all.
find passion of the soul. or waste the gift of life.
I want so bad to give it all to you
our family.
isn't that precious
