Silver Lining

  • You know when you're waiting for something/on someone and seconds seem like decades
  • You know when you want all the time you end up panicking for seconds more
  • You know when you care, you count every awkward word or silence, but when you don't care everything comes out smooth
  • You know when you get so sick, and you get that fear of never knowing what it's like to be normal again
  • You know when your feet get so cold that the next step might just break your toes
  • You know how every drought is followed by a freakin hail storm
  • You know the protection from the cold your covers offer, but the rush that then comes from realizing the oversleep as you fly out of the covers
  • You know how you were so intimidated at first only to look back and see how far you came
  • You know how easy it is to tell other people everything is going to be okay just to then freak out about your own life
  • You know when you wake up from a dream still creep-ed out because it seemed so real
  • You know that fear of reaching outside of the shower to grab a towel because of the cold drift
  • You know how you have so much to do that you end up sitting thinking about it all not doing anything
  • You know how someone calls you during a nap and no matter how hard you try to hide it, they always know you just woke up. [and for some that means you will call them back in a few]
  • You know how you pretend not to care so that you don't get your hopes up, just to realize how you can't fool yourself.
  • You know how we thought we knew everything, and how five years later we question knowing anything
  • You know how we used to pray to grow up faster, but now reality makes us want to stay young
  • You know how you used to dream about graduation, and then it happened, and you wondered how the heck it happened
  • You know how we thought it would just happen, only to realize we have to make something happen. but how then we realized when you make something happen other things happen.
  • You know how we wanted to be a doctor or a teacher when we grew up, because that's all we knew, and the money difference was not a deciding factor.
  • You know how you're waiting for a text or a phone call and you know it's not there, yet you open it any way. Just to close it and have your heart get excited only to be quickly dismayed because it's just the light from closing it, not from your awaited responder. pathetic really.

Maybe it's just me. =)

It's the beginning of a New Year. Funny how it'll be just another morning. But it's a mental milestone. This year we're going to do it all and do it all right. This year is going to be the silver lining. I'm going to get a job. I'm going to fall in love, perhaps he'll even love me back. I'll become a stronger person. I'll check things of my list.
