Tokyo was the nicest little place. I felt the most safe here. Even with the most noticable language barrier, the people actually attempted to communicate. Service is the most notable different between the east and western cultures. They bow, they say thank you, they pull out your seat, hand you everything with two hands, they make sure your needs are taken care of, and they act like they actually care. I definitely have a greater respect for the people and a big part is because they respected me. It's amazing how it works! However, I think because they are so respectful they are easily offended when the standards are lowered by our carelessness. At the same time, they are probably used to us Americans...

Toyko was huge. People swarm the streets at night and the underground is packed! They higher more people in the stores just to have better customer contact, probably to the detriment of profit, unheard of in western culture.

Our FHE activity was 45 minutes of a video/picture scavenger hunt during rush hour. Seriously, all four lights stop for the pedestrians. We even got to go to Disney Sea on our last day. Perfect weather, awesome people, and good food. But I have to admit coming home was something we all looked forward to. I now despise airports and pulling luggage. However, I'm still living out of a suitcase. I'll talk about Florida in the next post...
