So I currently work as a data analyst for the Department of Education. That's about the extent to what I tell people. My resume may have listed as an explanation: "a liason between states and federal education agencies" or something to that effect. We collect data that should affect where tax dollars go. Basically, lots of program offices at ED want data and states want money all in one big fat effort to promote and enhance our education system. Are you feeling smarter because of the work I do? Yeah, don't blame me; I'm just the analyst. (Unfortunately that's what everyone says regardless of title... hmm. problem uno with this world - oh yeah - I hopped right in that puddle of mud).
