taking off the cover

sometimes we think we're the only ones. the only ones who understand - who see things that we think others don't. sometimes we're right. and sometimes we totally misjudge. sometimes I like to trick people into assuming i didn't notice. but sometimes I don't notice. when we don't notice - we're too caught up in our own insecurities and frustrations or egotism. and even if we do notice. it's at one point in time. we miss the beginning and the end. sometimes we look for conclusions to the middle of a story. we all know you can't have a conclusion with the film rolling. so stop. stop drawing conclusions.

Light opens my eyes to the passage of time
She held me tight that very first season
but loosened the string so i now sway in her steps
the grip unraveled and soon dust gathered
She keeps fighting for something new
because change is like blowing a new sheet into the wind
She keeps running because if she stops,
He catches up to her and melts the cover

The black lines and the shades of color
mask the red signs that belong to caution
It doesn't matter which angle shapes the perfect side
my eyes only see lines and colors
but He makes her find the exact concealer
Weapon of choice becomes the mirror

She finally wiped them cleanby unveiling the broken images.
He forgot to tie down her hands
She picked me up once again
and told the story in her own words.
Circles always go back to the beginning
and never end - so I had to face Him
and this time, I knew He wouldn't win.
